One of our latest success stories is none other than Romano Pillay, who has officially been promoted to Branch Manager of Super Tyres Westmead.
Recognising Talent Through Promote from Within
Romano joined the Super Tyres family five years ago as a salesman. Right from the start, his drive stood out—within just one month, he earned the title of Super Salesman, proving his natural ability to connect with customers and deliver results.
By his fifth month, Romano had already secured third place in our Best Salesman awards, and went on to achieve the Best Salesman title consecutively in the years that followed. His consistency and dedication didn’t go unnoticed.
In his third year, Romano took on the challenge of leadership, stepping in as Acting Manager for both the Umgeni Road and Westmead branches. Balancing responsibilities across multiple locations, he embraced the opportunity to learn, grow, and lead.
One of Romano’s biggest challenges came when he set his sights on reviving the Westmead branch, which had previously underperformed under its former owner. With hard work, determination, and a focus on people-first service, Romano helped transform the branch into a thriving hub for customers and staff alike.

At our most recent company conference, Romano’s leadership journey was further solidified when he became certified through the ActionCOACH Management Development Programme—an internationally recognised course designed to build strong, effective business leaders. This achievement is yet another milestone in his incredible journey.
