History

Founded in 1898, by Frank Seiberling in Ohio, USA, Goodyear Tyres was originally a bicycle tyre company and their first major product the “Bicycle Universal” tyre was a hit. Shortly after the release, the company expanded rapidly and began producing tyres for cars in 1904. Soon enough Goodyear Tyres were seen on almost every popular car. In 1911, Goodyear introduced the first non-skid tyres that featured a unique tread pattern that improved traction and safety on wet roads. Goodyear also developed the first “tubeless” tyre in 1948, eliminating the need for an inner tube which made their tyres easy to install and maintain. In 1952, the company became the first tyre manufacturer to supply tyres to Formula 1 racing, a partnership that continues to this day. Goodyear Tyres have been used in NASCAR for more than 50 years, and the company has won multiple championships in various racing series. Today Goodyear continues to be the top choice for most drivers – whether you’re looking for a reliable tyre with great traction in wet conditions or a high-performance tyre for the racetrack, they have you covered.
